Cell Counter
Cell Counter is a high-performance laboratory device used to automatically identify and count the number of cells. Compared with the traditional [cell counting plate] method, the counter greatly improves the efficiency and repeatability of data acquisition through image recognition, staining analysis or resistance detection technology. It has significant advantages in high-throughput detection, cell viability analysis, cell growth curve drawing, etc.

FAQ of Cell Counter Machine
What is the difference between a automated cell counter machine and a cell counting plate?
The cell counter analyzer uses automatic recognition technology and can complete high-precision analysis in a short time; while the cell counting plate requires manual operation and is susceptible to human error. If you pursue efficiency and repeatability, it is recommended to choose a cell count instrument; if the budget is limited or you are in the teaching stage, you can choose a counting plate.
Can I count directly in the culture medium?
Not recommended. Direct culture medium may contain interfering particles such as serum and debris. It is recommended to use PBS or sterile centrifuge tube to treat the cells and resuspend them to ensure the purity of the sample.
Do the cell counting instruments support saving and exporting counting results?
Yes. Most counting equipment provides USB ports, cloud synchronization or built-in databases to facilitate experimental result backup and data tracking.
Is the automatic cell counter applicable to all cell types?
Most cell counter hemocytometer supports a variety of cells, including mammalian cells, yeast, and some prokaryotic cells. However, for cells with strong aggregation or irregular morphology, it is recommended to use professional mode or pre-treat the sample.
How to use a cell analysis instrument?
- Collect adherent cells from the cell culture dish using a cell scraper or trypsin treatment.
- Mix the cell suspension with a staining solution (such as trypan blue) in a 1:1 ratio.
- Use a pipette and filter tip to take an appropriate amount of sample and inject it into a dedicated slide or disposable counting chip.
- Place the chip on the counter stage and set the parameters (cell type, magnification, staining type).
- Start counting and generate reports such as total number, concentration, and viability in about 30 seconds.
Which staining solutions can be used with the counter?
Common dyes include Trypan Blue, Propidium Iodide (PI), Calcein-AM, etc. Choose the appropriate staining solution based on the instrument model and application scenario.
