Cell Scraper

Cell scraper is made of highly elastic medical-grade polystyrene, with a soft head and adjustable angle. It is suitable for gentle collection of adherent cells. It can be used with cell culture dishes or culture bottles to effectively avoid cell damage. It is an ideal tool for cell passaging and recovery experiments.

Cell scraper for sale: 18cm, 25cm. Individual and bulk package.

MOQ: 1 CARTON.

Feature of Cell Scraper

  • Adjustable angle design: The scraper angle can be rotated up and down to better fit different curved surfaces, such as the inner wall of straight-necked or oblique-necked cell culture bottles.
  • Medical grade polystyrene (PS) material: DNase/RNase-free, pyrogen-free, and meets the sterility requirements of cell experiments.
  • Multiple specifications available: Common widths such as 18cm and 25 cm cell scraper are suitable for cell culture dishes and cell culture bottles of different sizes.
  • Independent sterile packaging: Ready to use, reducing the risk of contamination.

How to Use a Cell Scraper?

  • Preparation: Wear nitrile gloves, equipped with filter tips and pipettes, and prepare adherent cells grown in cell culture dishes or culture bottles.
  • Enzyme treatment or PBS washing: Trypsin or PBS can be added to gently rinse the cell surface.
  • Use a scraper: Open the sterile package, hold the scraper handle, adjust the scraper head to a suitable angle, and gently slide from one end to scrape off the adherent cells.
  • Collect cell suspension: Use a pipette or pipette to aspirate the cell suspension and transfer it to a centrifuge tube.
  • Subsequent processing: Centrifuge, passaging, cryopreservation (with cryovials, cryoboxes) or extraction operations according to experimental requirements.

FAQ of Cell Scrapers

What is the difference between scraperrs lab and trypsin digestion?

Scraper is a physical method, suitable for gentle recovery of adherent cells that are easy to fall off, avoiding protein degradation or membrane protein damage caused by enzyme treatment; trypsin is suitable for cells that are more closely attached to the wall or are passaged in large quantities.

Will the splastic cell scraper damage the cells?

No, it will not damage the cells if the angle and force are appropriate. The scraper head is made of flexible material and fits the bottom of the culture vessel. It will not produce obvious shear force and is suitable for the recovery of highly active cells.

Can the cell-scraper be reused?

Reuse is not recommended. Cell experiments have high requirements for sterility, and repeated use may cause cross contamination and affect experimental results.

Does it support the operation of canted-neck culture bottles?

Yes. The angle of the cells scraper head of some models is adjustable, and it can be operated deep into the bottom of the canted-neck bottle to easily scrape cells.
