Cryogenic Labels

Cryogenic labels are specially designed for extreme low temperature environments and can withstand temperatures ranging from -196°C to 70°C. Solvent-resistant adhesives ensure long-term stable adhesion. They are suitable for marking liquid nitrogen tanks, cryotubes and automated equipment, and are suitable for efficient laboratory management needs.

Feature of Cryogenic Labels

Cryogenic labels, also cryovial labels, are a kind of label paper varieties that can still maintain strong adhesion and will not come off easily when they are in low temperature or high humidity environments. Compatible with our cryogenic tubes , cryo box, centrifuge tubes, pcr tubes.

According to the application scenarios of low-temperature self-adhesive tube labels in the pharmaceutical industry, low-temperature environments are categorized into four main types: i.e., refrigerated, frozen, dry ice level and deep cold (liquid nitrogen)

Deep Cold (Liquid Nitrogen, -196°C): e.g. stem cells, CAR-T cell therapy products, umbilical cord blood for long term preservation, germ cells in in vitro fertilization, etc. Liquid nitrogen storage is used to maintain the long-term activity of these biological samples.

Cryolabels for low temperature storage: The usage scenario usually requires liquid nitrogen labels to be put in a refrigerated or even frozen environment and stored in a low temperature environment. Cold environments place high demands on the adhesive properties of self-adhesive labels, as well as frost and moisture resistance.

The pharmaceutical industry has relatively high requirements for cryo labels because blood, stem cells and all tissues need to be freezed to 0°C (or below) for storage, e.g. -196°C (liquid nitrogen refrigeration). Biological activity stops at temperatures below -130°C.

Therefore, storing sample materials at such temperatures is necessary to maintain the materials in an unchanged state. In order to ensure that these products will be able to fulfill their life-saving and life-creating medical mission when needed in the future, it is not only important to protect them from deterioration, but it is also essential to ensure that their identifying labels will not be damaged in a low-temperature environment.

Applications of Cryogenic Labels

Scientific research experiments:
Laboratory centrifuge tubes, sterilized test tube, scientific labels, blood bag label marking, etc.
Biological reagents:
For labeling biological reagents stored in reagent bottles.
Sample Storage:
Labeling and tracking of biological samples stored in liquid nitrogen tanks or ultra-low temperature refrigerators.
Medical Industry:
Sample tube labeling, blood bag labeling, vacuum blood collection tube, labels, etc.

The labeling of cryogenic packaging can meet the requirements of -80℃ and -196℃, and can be attached to cryopreservation tubes, cryopreservation bags, cryopreservation boxes, cryopreservation racks and other items, and stored in ultra-low-temperature refrigerators and liquid nitrogen tanks.

FAQ of Cryo Label

What the difference between cryo tags and normal labels?

  1. Cryogenic labels for frozen surfaces compatible with direct thermal printers.
  2. Temperature resistant from -196°C to 70°C, suitable for freezing in both liquid and vapor phase nitrogen.
  3. Adheres securely to plastics, glass, and metals without cracking, peeling, degrading, scuffing, or smearing.
  4. Allows smooth insertion and removal of labeled tubes from centrifuge rotors without sticking.
  5. Supports popular barcode formats for fast and efficient sample identification.
  6. Prolonged exposure to alcohol may cause material discoloration.

What are the advantages of using cryo labels?

  1. Low Temperature Resistance: The cryogenic storage labels are made of special materials and manufacturing processes that are able to resist extreme low temperature environments. At low temperatures, the labels will not crack, peel off and other phenomena to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the sample information.
  2. High clarity: With high clarity, it can keep the handwriting clearly visible in various environments. Even at low temperatures, the label’s handwriting will not be blurred or faded, making it easy for healthcare workers to read sample information quickly.
  3. Durable: Longer life span, able to maintain good condition under repeated use and low temperature environment. These labels not only reduce the cost of replacing labels, but also facilitate the daily work of healthcare organizations.
