Freezer Shelf

Freezer shelf is a metal or plastic rack used for sample storage and management in a low-temperature environment. It is widely used in the fields of biological sample cryopreservation, cell bank construction, laboratory sample archiving, etc. When used with cryotubes and freezing boxes, it can achieve sample classification, numbering and efficient retrieval.

Freezer storage racks for sale: Sliding drawer, side access drawer, frame type, hanging type. Standard for 1, 2 inch boxer, customizable.

MOQ: Please contact for details.

Feature of Freezer Shelf

  • Strong low temperature tolerance: Made of high-quality plastic, stainless steel or aluminum freezer racks, it can withstand low temperatures of -196℃ to -80℃, suitable for liquid nitrogen tanks and low-temperature refrigerators.
  • Various structures: optional drawer-type, step-type, and three-dimensional structures to meet different spaces and sampling habits.
  • High size compatibility: can be used with standard 5×5, 9×9 freezing boxes or 1.5mL/2.0mL cryopreservation tubes.
  • Convenient coding management: can be used with a barcode label system to achieve accurate sample management.
  • Anti-corrosion and anti-rust treatment: especially suitable for long-term use in cold chain environments with high humidity and low temperature.

1. Sliding drawer type cryo drawer racks

Drawer panels with label slots and handles. Handles are pivoted to swing up and down. When not in use, the handle swings down against the drawer panel, when in use, it swings up to a horizontal position to push and pull the drawer. Since the handle fits snugly on the drawer panel, it does not take up much space.

We add low temperature resistant plastic ring at the drawer handle to make the handle and the drawer panel spaced at an appropriate distance, thus preventing the handle from freezing with the outer wall of the freezer rack, and also avoiding the low temperature damage caused by the user’s bare hands directly grasping the metal handle, providing effective protection for the operator.

The drawer of chest freezer rack has a marking card position, stamping design from the inside to the outside, to prevent freezing off at low temperatures, and to facilitate sample marking and orderly management.

2. Side access drawer type cryo box rack

Side pick-up drawer freezing rack, not only convenient to mark the frozen samples information, but also conducive to the drawer pull out, from the side of the knock, push the freezing box, remove its bottom plate, the surface of the ice, the horizontal push out of the workstation the other hand from the opposite side of the pick-up. The support partition realizes the complete isolation of each station, and in the case of thicker frost, it prevents the frozen storage boxes from sticking to each other, and facilitates the rapid removal of samples.

3. Frame type upright freezer racks
Mainly used in vertical refrigerator, in the process of use need to pull out the whole frame, and then select the corresponding frozen storage box.
According to the different production process, the frame type freezing storage rack can be divided into plate stamping type and electric welding riveted type. Plate stamping one-piece molding is stronger, heavier weight, more consumables, higher cost. Welding and riveting is lighter and less expensive, but not as durable as stamping.

4. Basket type upright freezer organizer

Typically used in horizontal refrigerators and liquid nitrogen tanks, a pin bar is inserted on the placement side that runs up and down the entire freezer shelf, preventing the freezer box from falling when accessed from the container.
The front of the frame type freezer shelving will be equipped with a pin bar to prevent the sample from falling out due to the tilting of the rack when the sample is put in and taken out.

FAQ of Shelf for Freezer

What consumables can be used with the freezing rack?

  1. Cryogenic tubes are used to store samples such as cells, sera, and bacterial strains, and can be directly placed in a freezing rack for use.
  2. Cryoboxes are usually 5×5 or 9×9 grids, used to hold cryotubes and are placed in a freezer rack.
  3. Liquid nitrogen tanks are used to store freezer racks and their samples for long-term storage.
  4. Sample label stickers are used to mark tube and box codes, and are combined with freezing rack numbers for accurate management.
  5. It is recommended to wear low-temperature gloves when operating the freezing rack and arranging samples to prevent frostbite.

How to match laboratory freezer racks with the refrigerator for maximum space utilization?

  1. Confirm the internal length, width and height of the horizontal refrigerator: L * W * H.
  2. Calculate the number of freezing racks can be placed horizontally, A = [L / 143] (rounded to the nearest whole number, discard fractions).
  3. Calculate the number of rack can be placed vertically, B = [W / 143] (rounding up or down).
  4. Freezing shelf layer to see the refrigerator height H, the selected freezer storage racks height is less than and closest to the refrigerator height H.
  5. The horizontal refrigerator can be placed in the number of freezer shelves = A * B.

Does the freezer shelf rack need to be disinfected or cleaned?

Usually the freezing environment itself inhibits the growth of microorganisms, but it is recommended to wipe and clean it regularly to prevent labels from falling off and condensation from rusting. It can be wiped with 70% alcohol or a special low-temperature disinfectant before and after use.
