SDLABIO Aluminum Foil Gas Sampling Bags

SDLABIO Aluminum foil gas sampling bags are a high barrier packaging bag made of PET/AL/PE multi-layer structure. It has excellent oxygen barrier, moisture barrier and puncture resistance, and is widely used in on-site sampling and long-distance transportation of VOC, gas, liquid and powder samples.

Feature of Aluminum Foil Gas Sampling Bags

  • Light shielding & oxygen barrier: ≤0.1cc/m²·day oxygen permeability, effectively protecting photosensitive and volatile compounds.
  • Low temperature resistance: The bag can remain flexible and not brittle in a frozen state of -40℃, and can be used with refrigerated transport boxes to complete cold chain sampling.
  • Secondary heat sealing: The inner layer PE supports >3 times of heat sealing, and can be divided and re-sealed after sampling.
  • Uniform thickness: Total thickness ≥110μm, high puncture resistance, can hold particles or powders.

FAQ of Aluminum Muti Foil Gas Sampling Bags

How to use aluminum multi foil gas sampling bags correctly?
  • Inspection and pretreatment

Before use, carefully check whether the gas collection bag is damaged or has gas leakage. If cracks or damage are found, replace the bag with a new one in time.

Pre-treat the bag, such as sealing the bottom and injecting an appropriate amount of gas to check the sealing. If cleaning is required before use, it is recommended to use pure air or high-purity nitrogen for replacement.

  • Sampling operation

Mark the valve position: clearly mark the valve position on the gas sampling bag so that the needle or nozzle can be accurately inserted later.

Sampling: connect the valve inlet and outlet to the rubber tube, and then turn the valve switch counterclockwise 1/2 turn to open it, and the sample gas enters the sampling bag. After the sample is collected, turn the valve switch clockwise to the bottom and clamp the rubber tube with a water stop clamp.

Sampling: loosen the valve switch 1/2 turn to sample directly, connect the outlet with a rubber tube, and the method is the same as when sampling; or use a needle to sample.

  • Sealing and storage

After sampling, immediately seal the bag with tools and check the sealing again. If there is leakage, replace the bag in time. Store the gas sampling bag in a cool, dry, dark place, away from direct sunlight or moisture. At the same time, keep away from open flames, high temperatures and flammable and explosive items to prevent danger.

  • Wear gloves and masks during operation to avoid inhaling toxic gases or being contaminated by gases.
  • Aluminum foil gas collection bags cannot collect non-methane total hydrocarbon gases
  • The operating environment should be well ventilated to prevent hypoxia or other dangerous situations.
  • Regularly check the sealing and gas quality of the gas collection bag, and replace it with a new bag if necessary.
  • For gas samples that may be corrosive, special attention should be paid to selecting suitable gas collection bags and interface materials to avoid damage to the bag.

The aluminum foil layer can provide almost “zero light transmittance” and extremely low oxygen transmittance, which is particularly suitable for trace analysis samples that are sensitive to light, oxygen, and moisture, while the nylon bag is more inclined to toughness and puncture resistance. Both can be selected according to the nature of the sample.

You can use clean scissors to cut the heat seal line, take samples again and use heat sealing pliers to reseal. However, to avoid potential contamination, it is recommended to use it once and repackage it.

SDLABIO’s aluminum multi layer foil gas sampling bags are high-barrier packaging bags made of a multi-layer structure of PET/AL/PE. The outer layer of PET provides mechanical strength, the middle layer of aluminum foil shields light and oxygen, and the inner layer of PE ensures stable heat sealing and can be repeatedly sealed with hand-held heat sealing pliers. Compared with ordinary wire sterile bags, aluminum foil bags can significantly delay sample oxidation and water loss, and are an ideal choice for scenarios that require low detection limits, such as food safety, environmental monitoring, pesticide residue detection, and pharmacopoeia inspection.
