SDLABIO Weighing Paper
Weighing paper is a high-purity paper specially used for weighing precision samples in experiments. It has the characteristics of being waterproof, oil-proof, and non-sticky. It is widely used in the quantitative transfer and weighing of powdered, granular, and crystalline solid materials to avoid sample residue and balance contamination.

Feature of Weighing Paper
- Low adsorption: not easy to adhere to powder, ensuring complete sample transfer.
- Good chemical resistance: suitable for most inorganic acids, alkalis and organic solvents.
- High cleanliness: low ash content, no interfering components, in line with scientific research and pharmaceutical analysis standards.
- Multiple specifications available: common sizes include 9×9cm, 10×10cm, 12×12cm, etc. 24g/31g/70g.
Weighing Paper Use
- Taking out the paper, unfold it and place it on the balance pan.
- Use tweezers or a medicine spoon to place the sample in the center of the paper.
- After weighing, gently lift the four corners of the paper and pour the sample completely into the beaker or centrifuge tube.
- Discard it after use to avoid cross contamination.
- If volatile samples are involved, a weighing boat or closed container can be used to assist the operation to prevent gas from escaping.

FAQ of Weighing Paper Chemistry
What is laboratory weighing paper used for?
- Solid sample weighing
Used for weighing solid samples such as powders, crystals, and particles, commonly used in chemical, pharmaceutical, and biological experiments.
Place on the balance tray to prevent the sample from directly contacting the balance to avoid contamination and residue.
- Sample transfer
After weighing, it can be easily folded to transfer the sample to a test tube, beaker, centrifuge tube, or reaction vessel.
Especially suitable for the precise transfer of trace samples to avoid waste.
- Balance protection
Avoid corrosive or wet samples from directly contacting the balance tray to extend the service life of the equipment.
- Pre-weighing steps before analytical sample processing
Accurately weigh the reactants or analytes before conducting experiments such as titration, extraction, and filtration.
- Laboratory high-purity operation requirements
No fluorescent agent, low ash content, no additives, suitable for high-precision analytical experiments (such as drug testing, standard sample analysis, etc.).
What is the difference between chemistry weighing papers and ordinary paper?
Weighting paper has higher purity, low ash content and anti-adsorption performance, is not easy to adhere to the sample, and will not affect the experimental analysis results, while ordinary paper may contain impurities or easily absorb moisture, affecting the weighing accuracy.
Can weigh paper be reused?
Reuse is not recommended. Weighing paper chemistry lab is a disposable consumable. Reuse will bring the risk of cross contamination and affect the accuracy of the experiment.
Can lab weighing paper be used for high temperature operation?
Generally, weighing paper is not resistant to high temperatures. If high temperature treatment is required, it is recommended to choose a quartz boat or aluminum weighing dish.
What size paper is suitable for samples of different sizes?
If the sample size is small (<100mg), 7.5×7.5cm can be selected; 10×10cm or 12×12cm is recommended for normal operation. If a large amount of sample needs to be weighed, it can be used with a large weighing boat.
