How to use the microscope coverslip?
- Gently pick up the cover glass slip with tweezers, tilt it at a 45° angle to cover it slowly so that one side of it touches the slide first, and then flatten it slowly to prevent air bubbles under it.
- Gently press the microscope cover slip with scientific filter paper to help removing air bubbles.
- Wipe the surface of the slide cover glass with a cotton gauze or clean paper towel to make sure there are no stains or residues.
How to clean coverslips for cell culture?

How to put cover slip microscope without bubbles?
1. Prepare the Slide
- Add Mounting Medium: Place a small drop of mounting medium (e.g., Canada balsam, glycerol, or synthetic resin) on the slide over the specimen. Use just enough to cover the specimen area—too much can cause overflow and too little may introduce air bubbles.
- Even Spread: Try to ensure the mounting medium is evenly spread over the specimen before applying the slip.
2. Angle the cover slip
- Hold at an Angle: Hold the slip at a 45-degree angle above the mounting medium, with one edge just touching the drop. The angled approach allows air to escape as the coverslip is lowered.
- Slowly Lower: Slowly and gently lower the slip onto the slide. This gradual lowering helps spread the mounting medium evenly, allowing bubbles to escape before they become trapped.
3. Apply Gentle Pressure
- Apply Gentle, Even Pressure: If any small bubbles remain, use a wooden applicator stick, tweezers, or a soft cloth to gently press on the glass slip. Start from one end of the coverslip and move toward the other end to push bubbles toward the edges.
4. Allow the Slide to Settle
- Wait for Settling: After the slip is in place, allow the coverglass to sit for a minute or two to let any remaining small bubbles rise to the edges, where they can escape.
- Avoid Disturbance: Handle the glass slide and cover slide carefully to avoid jarring or moving the coverslip microscope until the mounting medium is set.
5. Use Anti-Bubble Mounting Medium (Optional)
- Special Medium: Some mounting media are designed to reduce or prevent air bubbles. If air bubbles remain a persistent issue, consider trying one of these.
