What are pcr tubes used for?

If the height is too high, the cap will be pushed out by the airflow inside the tube during the experiment, causing the liquid inside the tube to evaporate and affect the experimental results. The pcr tube strips with attached caps can be opened after the PCR instrument has cooled down to room temperature, so that the temperature difference will be acceptable. It is recommended to set the end temperature to 4 ℃ at the last step.

What is the maximum volume of pcr tubes?
1. 0.1 mL (100 µL): Ultra-thin-walled tubes designed to improve thermal transfer in real-time PCR.
2. 0.2 mL (200 µL): The standard size for most PCR applications, compatible with many thermal cyclers.
3. 0.5 mL (500 µL): Less common, but still used in some PCR setups, though these larger volumes are generally slower to heat and cool.
The standard type for most applications is the 0.2mL pcr tubes due to its compatibility with a wide range of PCR machines. However, the actual reaction volume is often much lower (10–50 µL), allowing room for thermal expansion and minimizing evaporation.
How to prevent polypropylene pcr tubes from being contaminated during experiments?
To prevent contamination, it is recommended to use sterile pipettes when operating and ensure the cleanliness of the experimental environment. Seal the tubes promptly after use to avoid long-term exposure to the air. You can use a special PCR tube rack to store the tubes to avoid touching unnecessary surfaces.
