Cell Strainer
Cell strainer is manufactured of a plastic or nylon that pass fluids through and retain large particle in the mesh for multiple applications: filter and separate cells, remove clumps or debris.
Cell strainer for sale: 150 mesh 100 um green, 220 mesh 70 um orange, 330 mesh 40 um purple.
MOQ: 1 CARTON.
Feature of Cell Strainer
Cell strainer is commonly used in organ culture, tissue transfer or transplantation, especially suitable for stem cell and primary cell filtration, often used in conjunction with flow cytometers, is the best choice for flow cell sorting experiments, to separate a mixture of cells and solid particles as a common industry and lab consumable.
40um cell strainer, 70um cell strainer, 100 micron cell strainer are most common type, and can be used with our 50 ml centrifuge tube. 40 micron cell strainer is most used.
- Cell culture: Cell filters can be used for filtration to separate cells from the culture medium, where cell debris and metabolites need to be removed during the cell culture process.
- Biopharmaceuticals: Cell filters can be used to separate and purify microorganisms, cells, debris and insoluble impurities from biological preparations.
- Food and beverage industry: Cellular filters can be used to separate and remove microorganisms, cells and other impurities from food and beverage production processes.
- Water dealing: Cellular filters can be used to filter bacteria and other microorganisms from water to ensure water quality and hygiene.
Application experiments
How to gain individual mouse spleen cells of good avtivity?
- To obtain fresh mouse spleens which are oval shaped and can be separated directly by pulling with forceps, firstly place the mouse spleen in a pre-cooled petri dish or medium-sized centrifuge tube with appropriate amount of HBSS (Hanks’ Balanced Salt Solution) buffer and use surgical scissors or ophthalmic scissors to carefully cut up the spleen.
- Place a cell sieve over a 50 mL centrifuge tube and, using a disposable pipette, transfer the clipped spleen to the cell sieve by gently mashing or crushing it to pass through the sieve. If necessary, add 5-10 mL of PBS to rinse. Repeat the above steps, which can be verified using a 1 mL syringe. Single-cell suspension preparation is considered complete if the cell suspension that passes through the sieve can be blown repeatedly using a syringe (with a needle) without obstruction.
- Centrifuge the cell suspension at 400-600 g or 1500 rpm for 10 min at 4°C. Discard the supernatant and resuspend the cells in 2-5 mL of pre-cooled 1x PBS. Put the resuspension solution on ice, if necessary, the cells can be stained with Taipan blue to determine the viability, or single cell counting of the cells, adjusted to the appropriate concentration of cells, according to the purpose of the assay experiment were stained, on the machine for testing.

FAQ of Cell Filter
How to use a cell strainer?
- Preparing the filter.
Select a suitable cell strainer and put filter paper onto the filter as needed. - Prepare cell suspension or media.
Pour the cell suspension or culture medium into a container and add the required drugs, enzymes, antibiotics, etc. - Filter cells.
Gently press the filter in the mild cell suspension or culture medium and allow it to pass evenly through the holes of the cell strainers - Collecting filtered cells .
Filtered cells can be collected either directly through the sieve or from a container using sterile instruments. - Cell Culture.
If it is necessary to culture the screened cells, they are collected in uncontaminated cell culture medium and cultured according to the medium formulation.
What are the precautions when filter cells?
- For the screening of adherent cells, the strainer can be turned over and then filtered with a filter containing cell culture medium, and the filtered medium can be collected and used for cell culture.
- During the operation, it is better to carry out the experiment under aseptic conditions in order to ensure the sterility of the experiment and to avoid the contamination of air and external substances.
