Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between internal-thread and external-thread cryogenic vials?
Internal-thread vials have the cap screw into the tube, providing a flush seal that minimizes contamination risk.
External-thread vials have the thread outside the tube body, reducing the chance of sample loss due to cap contact with contents and are preferred for automation.
Can SDLABIO cryovials be used in liquid nitrogen?
Yes, SDLABIO cryovials made from polypropylene are rated for ultra-low temperatures (down to −196°C in vapor phase LN2). Ensure you’re using external-thread cryovials with internal silicone O-rings for direct immersion.
Are SDLABIO cryogenic gloves safe for handling liquid nitrogen?
Yes, our cryo gloves are tested for protection down to −160°C. They are not liquid-proof, but resist splashes and cold burns during LN2 handling.
Can freezer racks from SDLABIO fit all types of freezers?
Our cryo racks come in standard and customized sizes, compatible with vertical and chest freezers, including racks for 2” and 3” cryoboxes.
Do you offer OEM labeling or barcode printing for cryovials and labels?
Yes. SDLABIO provides OEM services, including custom label printing, barcode generation, and private packaging for labs, biobanks, and distributors.
